The Elizabeth Stainkamph Memorial Prize

The Elizabeth Stainkamph Memorial Prize, which for some years has been awarded annually, has now been instituted in perpetuity, and will be open for competition each year. The prize is presented to the candidate who, in the opinion of a selection committee appointed by the Chair of the Victorian Board of Directors, achieves the best combined result in Grade Five Theory and Grade Eight Piano examinations conducted during that year. This Award is presented at the annual Conferring of Diplomas Ceremony.

Leslie Barklamb Flute Award

The Leslie Barklamb Flute Award has been established in honour of Leslie Barklamb and acknowledges his contribution to the Australian Music Examinations Board. The Award will be offered on an annual basis, to an A.Mus.A. candidate who, in the opinion of a selection committee appointed by the Chair of the Victorian Board of Directors, demonstrates exceptional performance skills. This Award is presented at the annual Conferring of Diplomas Ceremony.

Victorian Music Teachers’ Association Theory of Music Award

The Victorian Music Teachers’ Association generously makes available an award for Victorian candidates presenting for the Grade Six Theory of Music examination. This Award will be presented at the annual Conferring of Diplomas Ceremony. The award will be made to the candidate presenting for the Grade Six Theory of Music examination who, in the opinion of a selection committee appointed by the Chair of the Victorian Board of Directors, achieves the highest result at Honours level at the Grade Six Theory of Music examination conducted during that year. In the event of no candidate receiving an Honours result in Grade Six Theory, the Theory Award will not be made in that year.

Margaret Leonard Speech and Drama Award

An award, sponsored by Margaret Leonard, will be offered on an annual basis to Speech and Drama candidates. The award will be made available for the outstanding candidate in the Seventh Grade Speech and Drama Practical examinations, providing the candidate has also passed the Grade Seven Theory. The recipient will be determined by a selection committee appointed by the Chair of the Victorian Board of Directors. This Award is presented at the annual Conferring of Diplomas ceremony.
