Enrol for Victorian Practical Examinations, Performance Evaluations and Written Examinations (online and paper-based), and purchase syllabuses and publications, at AMEB Victoria’s online service centre 

 

The following session dates apply to general centres, as published. A school or private studio with examining time of 3 hours or more in a particular instrument may apply to be an examination centre and also may request to host practical examinations outside the published session dates.

Melbourne Metropolitan Practical exams

All Music and Speech practical subjects except Licentiate Diplomas and special subjects (see below).

3rd Metropolitan 11 June – 26 June 5 April
4th Metropolitan 12 August – 8 September 14 June

Country Victoria

Special subjects available in Country Victoria by special arrangement. Examinations for Associate and Licentiate diplomas are not available in Country sessions.

 

1st Country Practical 22 July – 10 August 24 May
2nd Country Piano 11 November – 8 December 23 August

 

In the 2nd Country Instrumental session: Instrumental, Singing and Speech examinations are available in Ballarat, Bendigo, Geelong, Sale, Shepparton, Warragul and Wodonga only.

Special Subject and Rockschool Exams (Melbourne Only)

Accordion, CPM, Ensemble, Harp, Organ, Percussion, Recorder and Rockschool available in the following Special sessions only (alternative dates and locations might be possible where there is examining time of 3 hours or more in a particular subject).

Licentiate Diploma Exams (Melbourne Only)

1st Licentiate Practical 27 June – 29 June 17 May

Written Exams

Grade examinations in Theory of Music, Musicianship and Music Craft (except Grades 5 & 6) are available online. Traditional, paper-based exams for all subjects (except Music Craft Preliminary to Grade 4) are available in the following Written exam session.
